Winter in Belgrade
December 15th, 2009 by ron

Greetings to all!  We have enjoyed a slower week than usual  but have still managed to stay busy and take a few pictures to share.

#1.  On Monday we had all of the Serbian Elders for dinner.  Elder Knight managed to sneak in a 2 liter of coke—he said he needed to celebrate.  It was transfer day and he is going to Novi Sad, Elder Christiansen is transferred back to Belgrade and Elder Armstrong is headed to Croatia at this very moment.  Pictured here are Elder Christiansen, Ron, E. Jasper, E. Beaumont, E. Porter, E. Knight and E. Armstrong.  We are getting a new greenie elder straight from the MTC.  He will be here on Wednesday.

#2.We won’t be having a Christmas tree this year but I did manage to find some Pine Boughs and Pine Cones that I made into a wreath.  We bought 1 strand of colored lights and 6 ornaments and it made a real nice wreath that has brought Christmas into our flat!  We also found a poinsettia at the piaca      (marketplace) and we were so happy to find that.  Today is Dec. 15 and it is snowing wildly outside.  We got up early and got ready to leave for Novi Sad but as we looked out we realized we weren’t going anywhere so we changed back into our jammies and have enjoyed a beautiful snow day from our 11th floor flat.

#3.  A look at the snowy rooftops.  It really is beautiful and very cold!

#4.  The view across the street from our flat.

#5.  We continue to find ourselves pictured in the most unusual places.  Someone found us in Dr. Grebeldinger’s publication along with Bro. & Sis. Jackson from Draper and Dr. Grebeldinger as a younger man.

#6.  This is from the newspaper in Sremska Mitrovica along with Dr Minislav Kendricic (we call him Dr. Mike) and his wife Mirjana.  They are really great people.

#7.  Pres. Hill, our Mission Pres., Dr. George Bennett from Farmington, Utah and the Hospital administrator in Novi Sad.  Dr. and Sis. Bennett are toying with the idea of moving to Kayenta (Ivins, Utah).  They would be a wonderful addition to our area.  This picture was taken at the press conference for our Neo Natal Resuscitation Course 3 weeks ago in Novi Sad.

#8.  Dr Mike Kendricic and the newly donated equipment that Latter-day Saint Charities was able to supply to the General Hospital in Sremska Mitrovica.  The equip. included 2 infusion pumps, 2 respirators and a blood analyzer.

We send our love to all of you at this Christmas Season and especially to our Sons, Daughters-in-law and our Grandkids.  We sure do miss you this special time of year.  As we celebrate the Birth of our Savior, Jesus Christ,  may we all find love and peace in your hearts and in your homes.  May the Lord’s Choicest Blessings be yours.

Our love to you all, Elder Ron and Sis. Annette Densley
